ICONLOOP selected as aSSIST Masters Course on Blockchain

ICONLOOP has been selected to run an official program for the Digital Strategy MBA course at aSSIST, (a Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies) which is a leading professional business school offering masters and Ph.D degrees in business administration. The official name of the new educational program is ‘The Dapp planning and development practice using ICON’. Coordinated with aSSIST, the program teaches ICON platform operations and applications of blockchain that enable real-world workers to leverage blockchain as a foundation for startups and new business initiatives.

On May 10, ICONLOOP signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with aSSIST for a blockchain educational alliance. Based on the aforementioned MOU, the ICONLOOP team plans to educate trainees and groom the next generation of blockchain specialists. Students will leave this course with a better understanding of how to incorporate blockchain technology into their business model.

The course will be offered in the 4th semester of the masters program starting in January 2019. It will be a 2-week long course for a total of 24 hours worth of material and students will earn 1.5 credits. Hoon Lee, an ICONLOOP council, will be lecturing about blockchain fundamentals and case studies covering blockchain applications in the real world.

Hoon Lee said, “Cultivating blockchain experts through education is a prerequisite for blockchain mass adoption. ICONLOOP will foster students’ abilities in designing blockchain and crypto economy models with customized lectures to pioneer new businesses based on ICON’s platform.”

The Digital Strategy MBA has dedicated more than 50% of its program to blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and token economics. The ICONLOOP team expects to expand the blockchain ecosystem as well as increase awareness in the academic and corporate communities.
